My Honest Take on Electric Scooter Sharing in Pakistan

The first time I saw someone zooming past me on an electric scooter, I just stared. I mean, who wouldn’t? No engine sound, no smoke, just a guy riding smooth through traffic like he owned the road. That was my intro to something called micromobilityand yeah, it stuck with me.

Micromobility

Micromobility? Never Heard of It Before

I’ll be real with you, I had no clue what micromobility was. Turns out, it’s just a fancy way to talk about small, lightweight vehicles. Stuff like e-bikes and, of course, scooters. Not cars. Not buses. Just quick rides for short trips.

And in cities like Karachi and Lahore? Man, it makes total sense.

Renting a Scooter Changed the Game

One afternoon, I was late (again), and I didn’t want to wait for a ride. So, I tried something new. I pulled out my phone, found a nearby scooter on this new app, and just decided to rent an electric scooter.

Honestly, I thought it would be complicated. It wasn’t. Took me maybe two minutes to get set up. Once I started riding, I was shocked by how smooth it felt. Fast, clean, and no honking in my ear.

Why Everyone’s Talking About Electric Scooter Sharing

Now I get it. Electric scooter sharing is growing for a reason. You don’t have to own anything. No fuel. No stress. You just hop on, ride, and park when you’re done.

It’s like ride-sharing, but better, because you control the ride.

What I Love About It

  • Zero emissions – It’s eco-friendly.

  • Affordable – Cheaper than any cab ride.

  • Quick – No more being stuck behind a line of rickshaws.

  • Cool vibe – Feels modern and fun, not just functional.

Any Downsides?

A few. Some areas still don’t have scooter zones. And yeah, if your phone dies, you’re kinda stuck. But that’s about it.Oh, and wear a helmet. Please.

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely. I didn’t expect to enjoy riding a scooter this much, but now I take one whenever I’m heading out nearby. I’ve even gotten a few friends to try it. They were skeptical too, until they rode one. So if you’ve never given it a shot, now’s your chance. Rent an electric scooter just once. You’ll see what I mean.
